These models are celebrating the opening of
American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition at by getting all decked out in 1920s style. You can actually buy the garb they're wearing at local Philly boutiques like
Commonwealth Proper and
Smak Parlour. I seriously love these photos!
The American Spirits exhibit steps back to a time of flappers and bootleggers, and one of the eras of United States history I find to be most interesting. It takes off from the very beginning - at the first whispers of the temperance movement - and then runs the entire story from the Roaring '20s through the unprecedented repeal of the 18th amendment. On display are more than 100 artifacts like flapper dresses, temperance propaganda, and original ratification copies of the 18th and 21st amendments.
Get jazzed nerds...I am!
