What you may have noticed was the Muir Glen Tomato Invasion! The folks at Muir Glen know it's not currently tomato season. In fact, in most places, tomatoes are completely out of season.
The Muir Glen Tomato Invasion was set up as a reminder that Bostonians can enjoy the taste of summer all winter long with Muir Glen organic canned tomatoes.
You have to hand it to these guys, the idea is kind of genius.
The Tomato Invasion was not just a marketing stunt, Muir Glen is donating 3,000 cans of tomatoes to Boston CANshare's annual food drive for Thanksgiving. They also donated any salvageable tomatoes from yesterday's event to the Pine Street Inn.
The next time you're wandering the supermarket aisles looking for tomatoes, choose Muir Glen. Did any other tomato company decorate your city?
