Audrey Hepburn: A Charmed Life

Is anyone else as obsessed with coffee table books as I am? How about Audrey Hepburn? I was recently introduced to this little gem: Audrey Hepburn: A Charmed Life, written by Robyn Karney.

It's a fantastic look into the iconic beauty's life - starting with her childhood in Nazi-occupied Holland and running all the way through her early love for ballet, acclaimed debut in the film industry, and of course her years as one of Hollywood's most loved actresses. But what I enjoyed reading most were the bits about Audrey's work with children in Ethiopia and beyond.

And, oh, the pictures! I could stare at them all day, particularly the candid moments: Audrey with her baby boys, Audrey on her wedding day in 1960 wearing a simple white dress and head kerchief, Audrey in quiet reflection in between takes on set. There's even a copy of the advertisement Tiffany & Co. placed in The New York Times as a tribute to Audrey on the day she died in 1993.

Here's a look at some of my favorite black and white photos from the book:
